14 years experience in auditing, financial reporting, corporate finance. Extensive auditing experience, including leadership roles in auditing bank and for special assignments such as conducting financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
Served as a Group Accountant for a publicly traded corporation, in charge of the holding company and its 48 subsidiaries.
Former Shariah Committee Board member (Shariah Adviser) for Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (2012-2020) and responsible for reviewing and signing the issuance of Sukuk, including the Sunway RM10 Billion Sukuk issuance, among others.
11 years experience in academic and reseach setting. Taught upper-level accounting courses for both undergraduates and postgraduates at 4 institutions: UKM, IIUM, International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) and Dublin Business School.
Participated in 2 national-level accounting research projects, authored several articles, and served as a technical reviewer and editor for a technical book (Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance Advanced Module).
Local training assignments included working as a trainer for the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Islamic Banking and Financial Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM), the Securities Commission (SC) in the field of accounting for Islamic financial instruments, and the Royal Police of Malaysia (PDRM) in the field of industrial securities crime investigation.
Overseas assignments cover Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Maldives, including giving one-on-one coaching to the CEO of an international bank
